Position Description:

Look for an opportunity to grow? This hands on role will support production and employees to achieve customer needs.

• Assign daily work assignments while motivating and leading your team to achieve goals and objectives for productivity, quality and safety. Provide coaching, guidance and work direction to staff in a timely fashion. Develop teamwork among direct reports and with other functions.

• Be able to communicate/troubleshoot when production and post processing equipment need repair or have issues in a timely and efficient manner to reduce the amount of downtime and keep the production floor operating effectively.

• Document and complete all necessary associated production paperwork, including but not limited to document settings, dimensions, tolerances. Ensure production paperwork is completed properly and correctly according to GDP procedures.

• Coordinate workflow based on daily schedule of orders and assuring the priorities of the production schedule are met. Communicate any issues to the next shift and Production Manager while maintaining production schedule.

• Be a role model for the Safety and 5S Program. Facilitate proper work habits to minimize injuries and maintain cleanliness. Identify and correct unsafe conditions during daily operations. Participate in accident investigation process as needed. Accountable for area housekeeping and orderliness.

• Understand and support the company’s ISO Quality Management System. Ensure employees are operating within this ISO Quality Management System through processes and procedures.

• Resolve Documentation Kit discrepancies (i.e. routings, prints, materials, etc.) Ensure all production data is entered into management systems. Keep appropriate production records. Enter data for reports as needed by management.

• Coordinate with Engineering and/or Quality for production process set-up, process maintenance, manufacturing equipment and tooling maintenance, and calibration of inspection equipment, ensuring the daily needs of production are being met.

• Continually monitor area to identify areas for improvement. Participate in problem solving teams to continually improve quality and productivity; and to reduce scrap and rework. Support the implementation of improvement efforts on the production floor, share any concerns/ideas with Production Manager.

• Ensure employees are effectively trained and certified per process. Properly and timely document training activities. Offer any feedback or update work instructions/documents as needed or communicate any discrepancies to Production Manager. Train employees to production process as required.

• Participate in hiring process. Provide input to candidate interview and selection steps as requested.

• Conduct performance reviews for annual performance evaluation of direct reports based on Performance Management System, and recommend merit increases to Production Manager.

• Administer attendance and approve hours reported to payroll. Approve time-off requests by direct reports as the schedule allows. Log any employee communication incidents.

• Enforce company rules, policies, and procedures. Coordinate with HR and Production Manager regarding application of progressive discipline program to staff.

• Work overtime as needed/scheduled

• Participate in employee development (1:1) meetings, company meetings, safety trainings and other related meetings as planned by Production Manager.

• Any other duties and assignments as requested.

Position Requirements:

• Troubleshooting knowledge of lasers and automated processing equipment including programming of CNC and process controllers preferred.

• Demonstrated record of reliability including attendance, productivity, and quality.

• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, measuring instruments, and graphs and special charts (SPC).

• Experience with laser machined, laser cut and post processed products in medical environment is preferred, experience with laser-based machining and programmable automation is desired.

• Successful candidate should be able to read procedures and comprehend instructions related to the process and be able to train others effectively on the same.

• Demonstrated computer experience through the use of Microsoft products, file store and PC navigation

• Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to be proactive and self motivated.

• Effective communication, interaction, cooperation, and collaboration skills with employees at all levels and in all functions.

• Professional written and verbal communication skills are desired.

• Demonstrated ability to have a sense of urgency.

• Demonstrated ability to inspire motivate and lead personnel to achieve desired results.

• Effective communication, interaction, cooperation, and collaboration skills with employees at all levels and in all functions.

• High school degree or equivalent certification

• Previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred
