ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  1. Work closely with the project manager to define project plan.

  2. Execute the project by delegating project tasks and performing some of the more complex design and development

  3. Responsible for delivering the technical solution within a project.   

  4. Provide status updates to the project manager and customer.

  6. Design integration solutions from scratch.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  1. Support sales team by engaging with the customer to identify system requirements and functionality ensuring the solution we develop provides exceptional value.

  2. Develop others and participate in development of training curriculum.  

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  1. A four year engineering degree or equivalent related experience is required.

  2. Must have process control experience and/or software integration experience.

  3. Must be familiar with programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems or various SCADA packages.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Knowledge Required


  1. Programming experience for process related applications including: process controls, mixing and metering, continuous and batch production.

  2. Platform programming experience with any of the following:

    1. Siemens PCS7, Step 7, TIA Portal

    2. Rockwell Logix 5000 controllers, Plant PAX, FactoryTalk

    3. Emerson DeltaV and Batch Management 

    4. Yokogawa Centum



  3. Experience writing technical specifications and design documents

  4. Fluent mathematical skills and problem solving expertise

  5. Fluent PC/computer skills including internet based tools such as Google suite and Microsoft tools.

  6. Fluent ethernet/ networking skills desired

  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  8. Demonstrated ability to implement technical solutions tailored to a specific project

PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS


  1. The work environment varies from typical office environment to plant site environment

  2. Travel typically varies from 10% to 40% depending on work assignments

  3. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for varying periods throughout the day in the plant site area. Could involve long periods of computer work.

  4. Able to lift or carry up to 20 lbs.

  5. Postural activities include climbing, maneuvering, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling above, under and around machinery, equipment occasionally and includes reaching, handling, touching grasping machine parts, controls, control panels, levers, and switches as needed.

  6. Ability to climb ladders, stairs, platforms and scaffolding to diagnose/troubleshoot process and equipment occasionally.

  7. Ability to work in non-permit required spaces and at various heights using PPE as required.

  8. Physical effort required, continuous mental and visual attention required.

  9. The performance of this position includes exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Glasses with Side Shields and Hearing Protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. Required to be able to read documents and computer screens.
