Job Summary

The candidate will be part of the Strategic Sourcing (IT) team providing support to that team and the Tufts Health Plan Procurement organization. The candidate will support the procurement source-to-pay lifecycle with diverse range of responsibilities that may include analytics, process improvement, and project management. He/She will also have the unique opportunity to support the Procurement organization through the merger/combination. This is an exciting opportunity for the candidate to be exposed to real-world procurement experience, gain practical knowledge of contract management, and develop a variety of skills working on a diverse set of projects with a number of stakeholders across multiple organizations.

Job Description

*Please note this is a 2021 Co-op role with an expected duration of January - June 2021.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Provide analytical support to support data driven decision making including but not limited to:
- Pricing/Data analysis
- Presenting analysis to key stakeholders / decision makers
- Process Improvement including but not limited to:
- Document and map out existing processes related to Strategic Sourcing
- Identifying opportunities for optimization of existing/proposed processes.
- Vendor Management program support including but not limited to:
- Assisting in gathering required information from different stakeholders
- Work on presentation to be used for weekly/monthly Management updates

Ad Hoc projects related to Tuft's Vendor Management Program and Contract Management, including but not limited to:
- Contract Review and Redlining
- Migrating appropriate agreements from paper to electronic format, and then to contract management system (CMS)
- Populate and validate basic contract metadata in CMS
- Link related contracts and identifying gaps/concern in CMS Required Skills or Certifications
- Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to follow through assignments to completion;
- Demonstrate a smart sense of curiosity, and able to ask the right questions at the right time.
- Ability to work independently with excellent sense of ownership
- Ability to facilitate and manage a high volume of tasks within a demanding and rapidly changing environment;
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.

- Skill Development Opportunities
- Gain a solid understanding of Tufts Health Plan's Procurement process and the IT Category in particular;
- Gain an understanding of contract structure, and relationships between contracts
- Learn to collaborate with a cross-functional range of business partners and team members, enhancing relationship and engagement skills;
- Develop an understanding of the critical role Procurement plays in supporting the strategic objectives of Tufts Health Plan
- Improve project and deliverable management capabilities, including gaining an understanding of the tools and technologies used to support Procurement in its mission.

Requirements

EDUCATION: Working toward completing Bachelor's degree in relevant field
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Excellent with numbers. Comfort with broad range of tools and technologies, analytics and basic financial analyses. Strong data analysis skills (e.g., Excel, Access)
Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Previous co-op experience preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with procurement and/or supply chain preferred, but not required

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (include special requirements, e.g., lifting, travel, overtime) Moderate noise level and comfortable temperature, reflective of a corporate open office environment.
