SPOTSYLVANIA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER is a 133-bed acute care facility that opened in 2010 and operates as a community hospital on a 75-acre campus in Fredericksburg, Virginia. In 2019, we were proud to receive Healthgrade's Patient Safety Excellence Award. Our hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services with all private beds, a 24-hour emergency room, advanced technology operating rooms, and various specialized care services including a cancer care center. HCA STARN NURSE RESIDENCY PROGRAM

StaRN stands for Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses. Our one year long program is specific to the unit you are hired into. This is a full-time, paid and benefited career choice that is designed to enhance your nursing skillsets and knowledge while simultaneously promoting your professional growth and development.

13 Week Orientation:

* 6 weeks in classroom setting to include a combination of self-study, hands-on skills/simulations, and EKG (Electrocardiogram), TeamSTEPPS, BLS/ACLS, and CPI (Crisis Prevention) certifications

* 7 weeks of preceptorship with a designated and trained preceptor

After orientation, throughout the remainder of your first year, you will participate in our Professional Development Residency for your ongoing support:

* We pair you with a designated mentor for extra support

* You will collaborate with your mentor to complete an evidence based Capstone Project (opportunity to gain recognition by facility and/or corporate level)

* Monthly resident seminars provide ongoing education to include Intro to Charge Nurse Education

* Monthly meetings with your nursing director to track your progress, successes, challenges, future goals, etc.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR PROGRESSIVE CARE UNIT:

* You will work on our 26-bed unit working with patients who do not require the ICU but need more care than a general medical unit can provide

* You will work among a cohesive team of nurses who are passionate about patient care

* Our unit is a great place to build a diverse skill set, including critical care skills, to drive your continuous growth

* A new graduate nurse on our unit must be a team player with a strong willingness to learn

QUALIFICATIONS

* Graduate of an accredited nursing school within the past 6 months -BSN preferred

* Applicants may apply and be offered position prior to passing NCLEX exam

* Previous nursing support or service industry experience preferred

* Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
