Job Description:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Dispatch with some patrol of the Dean College campus. Shift schedule: 4pm to 12am, Thursday - Monday.

* Enforce campus community safety policies and programs.

* Identify and record safety issues during patrols.

* Respond to incidents and complete reports.

* Report incidents to Community Safety Supervisor and/or Manager.

* Complete all required reports in a timely and thorough manner.

* De-escalate situations whenever feasible.

* Protect departmental assets.

* Provide escorts on campus when requested.

* Perform miscellaneous responsibilities as needed.

* Conduct investigations

* Assist other campus entities as requested

* Assist at school sponsored events

* Special projects and assignments as business dictates

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications/Requirements

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

* Excellent customer service skills

* De-escalation techniques

* Technical ability in utilization of CCTV and alarm monitoring systems

* Strong observation skills

* Concise writing skills, strong communication skills

* Thorough understanding of the security operation

* Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment

* CPR/AED certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel.

* The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.

* The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.

* The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
