Job Summary

As the Vice President of Corporate Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping NetApp s future. You will collaborate, partner, present to, and influence the executive management team, CEO, and the Board to develop segments and or market strategies, define the role of investments and acquisitions, and present recommendations. You will be responsible for all aspects of strategic acquisitions and inorganic growth initiatives. You will manage matrixed teams in strategic planning and business reviews; growth, market-entry, and international expansion; market opportunity and sizing. You will develop valuation methodology and negotiation strategy in support of delivering the business objectives. The VP of Corporate Development responsibility supports both our Cloud Business Unit as well as our Storage Systems Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
Assumes full accountability for all M&A activities:
* Develop, design, implement and execute M&A strategy and M&A criteria/rigor to identify, review and select potential acquisitions targets that are in alignment with company goals
* Identify target companies and investments that will strengthen our leadership in hybrid cloud data services
* Source and research market data to identify trends and opportunities, develop strategic direction from market information, create and present compelling market analysis presentations, and manage make-versus-buy analysis from a partnership/merger/acquisition perspective
* Develop, build and maintain venture community relations and host Venture Days
* Manage existing venture investments and lead the investment process on select strategic investments
* Manage the due diligence process on potential acquisitions, conduct extensive financial modeling of structures and returns, business plans, and commercial arrangements that are in alignment with organizational criteria
* Structure the bid, lead the negotiations, execute the deal and integration preparation, and assess and support other inorganic growth strategies, including investments and partnerships
* Manage effective integration of any acquisitions, in partnership with a matrixed integration team Job Requirements

Key Qualifications:
* Building robust and collaborative relationships with team members, fostering a productive teamwork environment, guiding teams to generate a vision, leveraging diverse views, and helping to develop and grow team members throughout the course of every engagement.
* Demonstrative deep subject matter expertise and proven thought leadership in various aspects of mergers, integrations, spin-offs and divestiture transactions, including options analyses and recommendations, and success involving commercial due diligence or corporate development roles within the technology sector
* Heading up teams that are responsible for strategic planning and business reviews; growth, market-entry, international expansion, and market opportunity sizing
* Directing and conducted quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex data, including market and competitor (market sizing, drivers and dynamics), customer, and internal analysis (strategy, business model reviews, financials)
* Proven experience in steering project workstreams and development of proposals, deliverables, and reports

Skill Requirements:
* 8+ years of management experience in Finance, Corporate Development, or related field with proven success in M&A with a diverse portfolio
* Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Education

Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance or related degree or equivalent experience in the Cloud or Software
