The new team member is required to have Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a degree from a technical college and five to ten (5-10) years of experience; or the equivalent combination.


  The specification writer position will be tasked with creating, developing, planning, writing and editing specifications – specifically for Food & Beverage manufacturing projects.  Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, design software and e-mail. The selected candidate will have excellent communication skills. Must be physically present in the Lexington office.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)
Conducts meetings with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. Researches and translates technical information into specifications for nontechnical and technical users. Documents processes and specifications. Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements. Produces products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.  Experience with industrial manufacturing projects is preferred with an emphasis on Food & Beverage manufacturing. 

Conceptualizes, plans, develops, and writes documentation sets, including concept, reference, and task-oriented information, targeted for different audiences. Works with project teams to develop various specifications, procedures for users and developers.  Organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.


Meets with various departments to discuss document requirements and gather data to be included in the documents. Participates in and coordinates team meetings and contribute to the establishment of


improved documentation processes. Participates in project planning, attends project meetings, reviews written content, and coordinates technical reviews. Participates in Internal Document Reviews and provides feedback to project team for each project. Manages quarterly specification Gray Shelf Spec Updates and updates specifications as needed.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Normal office environment where noise level is moderate and temperature/humidity is controlled.   Overtime may be required.
