What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Oversee cash collection and cash application processes

  • Assess team's performance against cash collection and cash application metrics

  • Maintain relationships with key customer Finance leads and Accounts Payable personnel

  • Resolve escalated customer issues with key customer contacts

  • Oversee bad debt and disputes process

  • Lead customer-specific initiatives such as root cause analysis and implementation of process improvements

  • Provide cash collection, factoring, dispute and bad debt reporting to executive leadership

  • Improve collections and disputes process including use of HighRadius or similar collections tool

  • Assist with automation and creation of "self-help" reporting for non-finance users

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad-hoc projects as needed

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the cash application process and provide direction as needed


What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent related work or military experience

  • 5 years of experience in a financial or similar analyst role

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle), HFM, financial planning software, Microsoft BI and related technologies

  • Experience with large databases with the ability to utilize data from various BI systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel)


It'd be great if you also have:

  • MBA

  • Experience with data analysis and report automation

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma management concepts and/or certifications

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with tight deadlines

  • Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
