Job Summary for Registered Nurse/RN-Director:
The Resident Care Director/Director of Nursing is responsible for the ongoing operations of the nursing department. He/she assists and supports the translation of the assisted living philosophy into nursing practice by participating in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing care delivery system within the assisted living community.
Essential Job Functions for the RN / Director of Nursing:
Responsible for the planning and execution of all Resident assessments.
Maintains oversight and implementation of Resident service plans, being attentive to each resident as an individual and in accordance with state assisted living regulations.
Monitors the progress and effectiveness of a residents’ service plan through written progress notes and verbal communication with the residents and associates.
Meets regularly with the supportive services, social services, resident and/family member or responsible party to evaluate the service needs.
Monitors and maintains compliance with all state regulations.
Responsible for assuring all nursing department associates follow all state regulations and company policies and procedures at all times.
Responsible for conducting appropriate skill competencies and overall performance evaluations annually for the nursing department associates
Implements and monitors training programs and in-services for all associates in accordance with company and state assisted living regulations.
Responsible for the oversight of the S.A.M.M. and LMA program for residents.
Implements services during resident move-in, helps residents with orientation to the assisted living community/staff and with their overall adjustment to the assisted living community.
Informs physician, where applicable, and other personnel of changes in a resident’s condition and needs.
Provides for emotional and physical comfort and safety of residents
Ensures resident needs are met by coordinating and monitoring measures, restorative services, activities, and related support services allowing for respect and dignity of the person.
Works collaboratively with all other departments to assure delivery of resident related services.
Promotes Full Life Services and provides ongoing wellness programs to residents.
Puts resident service first. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere and recognizes individuals’ needs and rights.
Adheres to all OSHA regulations and safety procedures when lifting, bending, and using equipment.
Operates/maintains department within budgetary guidelines.
Adherence of non-negotiable.
Performs all other duties as requested by the Executive Director.
Prior experience in an Assisted Living Community preferred.
This is primarily a Monday - Friday position. Some weekends and on-call required.
