Responsibilities:

- Work closely with Design Engineering to transition new product platforms into production

- Work with Assembly and Final Test operations to support troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical, and control related issues

- Generate new required work instructions and documentation to be used in production for proper methods and process controls.

- Develop and deliver training to qualify technicians on complex assemblies. Continue to identify areas where shortfalls in training exists and internal capabilities need to be improved.

- Analyze and resolve technical and operational problems (8D analysis)

- Review and respond to technical queries from suppliers

- Participate in Product Life Cycle (PLC) projects for implementation of new products into production at contract manufacturer site from manufacturing engineering role

- Perform Design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews and participate in Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)

- Perform disposition and rework notifications for non-conforming material (NCM)

- Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product

- Suggest and implement changes in manufacturing environment, facilities, and equipment to increase efficiency of operations. Conduct lessons learned reviews after tools ship to ensure major issues have been identified and corrective action plans exist to address

- Execute engineering change masters (ECM) accurately, timely and cost effectively in SAP

- Support manufacturing by partnering with world class suppliers

- Provide regular status reports for activities relating to contract manufacturer and supplier issues as well as objective reporting

- Follow quality operating systems and ensure knowledge of quality procedures

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Software, Systems) with at least two years of relevant experiencein equipment/product manufacturing or a Master's degree in a related field is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Experience with systems designs input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software/controls compatibility is preferred

- Good understanding of system controls architecture

- Vacuum (UHV) and clean room experience highly desirable

- Experience with SPC and process control methodologies

- Strong communication skills, both written and oral

- Practical mindset with strong ability to read and interpret highly technical documents (e.g., schematics, mechanical drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, routings, operating, maintenance, and job safety instructions/procedures) provided in verbal, written or pictorial form

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

- Strong working knowledge and application using SolidWorks; Composer and AutoCAD a plus
