JOB SUMMARY

The chief objective of this position:

-

To provide restorative nursing care for residents under the direction of the Nursing and/or Rehab staff to maximize and maintain the physical functioning and emotional wellness of the residents. To act as an extender to Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapist and/or Speech Therapists, performing nursing and/or rehab procedures and resident care tasks within scope of competence and in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:

Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification

Depending on setting, current CPR or BLS certification within 60 days of employment

Experience REQUIRED:

Previous experience providing activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs and caring for the physical and emotional needs of patients

-

Previous experience using a personnel computer, keyboard and mouse

-

Experience PREFERRED

-

Previous work experience in a long-term care setting

Education/training REQUIRED:

-

High School Diploma or Certification.
