Job Description:

One mission of the Embedded and Open Systems Group is to develop multi-domain system architectures to meet DoD system needs. This group plays a key role in defining open architectures for sensor systems, avionics systems, ground systems, and systems that support Multi-Domain Command and Control (MDC2) / Joint All-Domain Command & Control (JADC2). An area of significant focus is the application of modern software engineering principles and commercial best practices to define and prototype open architecture solutions, that provide mission critical capabilities to the warfighter.

This combination of commercial best practices coupled with open architecture enables the flexible composition of sensors, processors, ground stations, and command centers. Our work in these areas feeds into open architecture standards which ensure seamless information transfer between system components and subsystem-level upgradability. We succeed by participating in all phases of the program, including problem analysis and innovative solution design, system architecture, rapid prototyping and field-testing, and ultimately transfer of our technology.
