Job Description:

The Andersons originated and is still headquartered in Maumee, Ohio. More than 70 years later, we operate 58 grain storage facilities in 11 states, including Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee, Nebraska, Idaho, Louisiana, New York and Texas with a total storage capacity of more than 190 million bushels. Our grain facilities accept corn, soybean and wheat commodities. The Trade Group specializes in the movement of physical commodities such as whole grains, feed ingredients and energy products. 

Position Overview

This position is responsible for identifying opportunities and driving improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) risk for multiple locations within the region. This role is corporate based, working to implement programs, processes and procedures within its respective business unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Support locations in execution of EHS Management Systems, Significant Injury and Fatality (SIF) initiatives, and Life Critical Policies through education and training, auditing, coaching and leading.


• Provide strategic leadership to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance.


• Assist with the development of business unit EHS policies and procedures.


• Provide incident investigation support and lead those classified as Red Risk.


• Ensure operations activities incorporate all necessary auditing, monitoring, reporting and inspections to comply with standards.

• Uses existing solutions to resolve complex issues


• Works independently; receives minimal guidance


• Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience


• Represents the level at which career may stabilize for many years
  
  

• Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred


• 5-10 years' relevant experience required


• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification preferred


• 75% travel requirement
