AVP of Talent Strategy - Valdosta, Georgia 

This is an ADVANCED LEADERSHIP position within the company, working closely with and reporting to the CEO. 

We are seeking an AVP of Talent Strategy to foster a culture of employee development and an organization learning that serves as a foundation for the future success of Barnes Healthcare Services.  The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing a training/development/ engagement strategy to support our evolving organization while ensuring our core values of People, Partners, Processes drive our decisions and actions.  This position combines both strategic focus with hands-on responsibility for development talent and will drive the implementation of our learning and development processes, systems and tools.

What will you do?


  • Anticipate, plan and create the future of the organization through talent forecasting.

  • Design and deliver training and leadership solutions that include a blended approach to learning through in-person training, e-learning and coaching.

  • Lead the talent acquisition process and ensure consistent procedures and systems are utilized for recruiting, selecting and onboarding for all Barnes locations.

  • Support leadership and management teams by designing development opportunities and programs that align with organizational objectives and enable managers to develop talent in their departments and meet the demands of the business. We want to be a company of coaches. 

  • Stay up to date with leading tools to incorporate into our Talent and Performance Management processes and/or training.

  • Review current HR tools and resources to determine if they are successful.

  • Manage an HR team of Generalist and Recruiters.

What are we looking for?


  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Masters Degree preferred

  • A minimum of 10 years in Human Resources with at least 5 years focused on learning, development and engagement experience

  • Experience in coaching employees to excel professionally

  • Experience in leading teams and/or advising teams

  • Solution-oriented, critical thinker with strong collaborative problem-solving skills

We will conduct a full background check including criminal history, work history, education history; a complete motor vehicle report as applicable for the past 10 years; a chemical report, including drugs, alcohol and nicotine. We are a NON-NICOTINE Organization.
