Prudential Financial is a life insurance & asset management industry leader that provides innovative solutions to a variety of markets. This position’s primary focus is Economic Scenarios as part of the Actuarial Enterprise Capabilities area and specifically, the Asset Liability Management (ALM) Methodology & Analytics Frameworks team.  This role provides an opportunity to engage and drive impacts for all the insurance businesses under the Prudential Financial umbrella.

Job Responsibilities:

• Technical expertise on economic scenario usage for actuarial purposes across Enterprise (GAAP, STAT, economic, etc.) and driving/implementing changes where appropriate.

• Maintain and enhance scenario generators, investment strategy tools, and related items that involve strong knowledge of Excel, VBA, Python, and C++

• Lead development of enhancing current methods of economic scenario generation and calibration

• Collaborate within Actuarial and across Financial Management areas (Chief Investment Office, Enterprise Risk Management, Treasury, etc.) on the above.

• Ability to assist with other projects related to investment strategy, balance sheet management, etc. on ALM Methodology & Analytics Frameworks team as needed

• Superior technical skills in Excel, VBA, Python along with working knowledge of C++

• Highly proficient knowledge of ESGs (Economic Scenario Generators) and their usage within financial industry context (preferably insurance)

• Strong experience with proper model testing, developing controls, and documentation

• Emerging knowledge of ALM concepts, capital markets, and GAAP & Statutory financial principles

• Ability to prioritize, plan, and execute across multiple work efforts simultaneously in order to meet both production related items for GAAP and STAT reporting and drive new initiatives

• Good verbal & written communication skills, particularly in presenting technical concepts and writing documentation

• 3+ years of financial services experience.
Preferred:

• The primary location for this position is in our Newark, NJ office, but we are open to a remote position for the right candidate. The position is currently remote through at least June 2021.  

• Actuarial, ALM, and/or investment modeling experience, preferably in an insurance company context

• ASA and/or CFA (designation, or on track for designation)
