Dematic is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer with demonstrated knowledge of a broad field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments. The ideal candidate will be able to successfully apply a complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures within areas of specialization to gain familiarity of Dematic’s current products and engineering processes.

Job Specific Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for all aspects of controls: From electrical drawing, ordering hardware, PLC programming, to comissioning. 

  • Mentor junior-level engineers on the team 

  • Travel up to 50% is possible. This includes weekend work with overtime.


Qualifications


  • Controls Engineer should have current, hands-on experience with Programmable Controllers. Expertise in the latest AB Logix or Schneider Electric (Modicon) is preferred. However, other PLC platforms will be considered as well.

  • At least 8 years' experience in controls/electrical engineering. 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electircal Engineering (or related field) 

  • Must demonstrate an understanding of design, layout and use of current networks such as Devicenet, Profibus, ASi, Ethernet.

  • Controls Engineer must have current experience with the rigors of on-site startup/commissioning.

  • Capability to develop and/or follow a project plan knowing the importance of setting and meeting milestone dates.

  • Design work is required. The ability to work proficiently within the AutoCADE environment will be beneficial when being considered as a candidate.

  • Experience with material handling systems is a plus.

  • Experience in writing descriptions of operations and development of controls based physical layouts is expected.

  • Demonstrated ability to determine requirements from customers while selling our ideas.

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness and demonstrated ability to stay current with the latest material handling concepts.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage numerous opportunities and deadlines.

  • Proven ability to reliably forecast and report on the status of proposals.
