The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a HR Workforce Reporting and Analytics Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Leads Diversity and Inclusion metrics and data driven stories, Social Justice initiatives reliant on workforce data, and Corporate Operating Committee reporting and dashboards related to the 3M workforce.

  • Identifies opportunities in data to inform HR and/or the corporation of the health of the workforce and trends that can be impacted by action.

  • Implements technically advanced, automated, and sustainable solutions to reporting and metrics requests.

  • Determines the optimum and clear ways to present data to our HR partners and 3M leadership by:

    • Efficiently and accurately organizing data

    • Thoroughly analyzing data and drawing conclusions

    • Presenting findings in audience-appropriate formats

    • Providing thoughts and/or recommendations on next-step actions



  • Supports data analysis needs for all of HR.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) years of data manipulation experience in a private, public, government or military environment

  • Experience with SQL, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Finance, Industrial Psychology, or Human Resources. 

  • Proven interaction with organizational leaders regarding the analysis of data.

  • Five (5) years of work experience in a global corporation in a Human Resources function.

  • Skills include…

    • Presentation of data analysis results via document and oral means.

    • Report design.

    • Report development using Workday, QlikView, PowerBI, Tableau, or similar tools.

    • Experience using R, Python, or similar data manipulation and scripting languages.

    • Working knowledge of Workday or other Human Capital Management systems.

    • System functionality testing as it relates to data.

    • Adopts scenario-specific techniques and methods to develop best-fit solutions.

    • Applies analytical thinking in interpreting data trends or tendencies.

    • Comfortable in leveraging a wide variety of data sources in analysis efforts.



Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international
Location: Maplewood, MN and may consider remote U.S. work location

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
