Job Description:

Coord Emergency Preparedness

Provides leadership, training, coaching, mentoring, and hands-on support to the organization to meet tactical and strategic goals.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of the operation of a personal computer and software necessary to perform duties and responsibilities of the position
• Understands and is able to use audio visual equipment
• Exercises good judgment, demonstrates effective critical thinking skills, professionalism
• Flexible, able to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities concurrently
• Works effectively under stress and frequently changing job requirements/situations
• Works effectively in conditions that involve exposure to variable weather conditions
• Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
• Functions well as a team leader and member of a team
• An effective communicator and educator
• Competent with theory and practice of change management
• Recognizes the need for life-long learning, and can articulate a personal learning strategy and plan to stay informed and effective
• Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
• Demonstrated ability to stay up to date on the regulatory requirements for reporting, both acute and ambulatory, and serve as a resource to stakeholders
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, TJC, NFPA and Emergency Management principles
• Excellence written, oral, and communication skills

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES
• Bachelor’s degree in a health care field, government, management, industrial engineering or an Associate’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience with commitment to attaining an appropriate degree within a negotiated period of time
• Healthcare background
• Current and valid driver’s license for state of Oregon
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) or must be obtained by the last day of the month after the 60-day grace period
• Certified Emergency Manager required within 2 years of hire

EXPERIENCE
• 3-5 years in the role of Emergency Management or Emergency Preparedness or experience in law enforcement, associated government experience (FEMA) with experience with Joint Commission accreditation
• Advanced training

• May require off-site travel and working during inclement weather
