Who we want… (Requirements)


The new team member is required to have Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a degree from a technical college and 2 years of experience; or the equivalent combination both. Experience designing in Revit is highly preferred and experience producing architectural drawings is required. Knowledge of building design software programs including Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, 3D Studio Max, Navisworks, solid works, etc. would be required.


Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheets, design software and e-mail. The selected candidate will have excellent communication skills. Must be physically present in the Lexington office.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)


The primary role of the VDC Specialist is to facilitate the successful implementation of BIM (Building Information Modeling), technology and the related processes. The VDC Specialist role is a key position in the VDC group, focused on producing models and providing technology related services and knowledge to Operations, Marketing, Preconstruction, and Business Acquisition departments. Primarily the VDC Specialist creates, obtains, evaluates, coordinates and distributes 3-dimensional BIM models for use by estimating, purchasing and operations. Works as part of the Gray teams, interacting with owners, architects and engineers to facilitate collaboration and communication during preconstruction through use of VDC/BIM processes. Works as part of the Gray teams, interacting with subcontractors, architects and software vendors, to facilitate collaboration and communication during construction through use of VDC/BIM processes. Plays a bridging role between preconstruction and construction phases relative to use of VDC/BIM. The specialist ensures project success by using technology to execute processes for or with the client, designers (architectural and engineering firms) and subcontractors.
