Postdoctoral Associate - Fungal Genomics

The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Associate to join the Infectious Disease and Microbiome Program and work on genomic analysis of fungal pathogens affecting human health. The successful applicant would join an interdisciplinary team studying the genomic basis of pathogen evolution and host-pathogen interactions in the Broad Institute Genomic Center for Infectious Disease. This work will contribute to the larger efforts of the Fungal Genomics group to combine clinical and genomic information to understand the evolution of fungal pathogen populations, determine the genetic factors important for pathogenesis and niche adaptation, map the genetic basis of drug resistance, and model host-pathogen response networks for major fungal pathogens.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph. D. in computational biology or bioinformatics, or in mycology/microbiology with computational experience.
- Expertise in computational genomic and statistical analysis of large genomic data sets.
- Practical experience with HPC clusters and ability to code in R and python.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong publication record.
- Outstanding personal initiative and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

PREFERRED EXPERTISE
- Analysis of large microbial genomic or transcriptomic data sets.
- Knowledge of genomic sequencing, bioinformatics tools and public sequencing databases.
- Experience with cloud-based computing environments
