Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

- Collect and assemble records/data into the prescribed format.

- Analyze data to ensure records meet regulatory and hospital standards.

- Implement practitioner completion process.

- Uphold levels of security and confidentiality to execute appropriate release of information.

- Maintains current knowledge of guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.

- Assist HIM Manager with medical coding as needed

EDUCATION:

- High School Diploma. AA preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:

- RHIT, RHIA, or test eligible preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

- Proficient in office and computer skills including, but not limited to the use of copiers, computers, and associated applications such as E-fax, Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

EXPERIENCE:

- Three to five years of inpatient record experience in an acute care hospital setting. Acute inpatient psychiatric setting preferred.
