Physical Security Operations Enablement Analyst

Job Summary: Leads and supports IBX Operations and Security teams within the following areas:   

Business Systems


  • Develops hands-on knowledge of security systems to resolve issues within a moderate scope

  • Provides security systems support and directs moderate installations and configurations for IBX Operations

  • Performs the Single Point of Failure (SPOF) and End of Life (EOL) reviews, including site physicals, assessments and may recommend remediation steps for resolving moderate issues

  • Tracks key performance indicators for physical security and business continuity

  • Provides day-to-day moderate support on physical security issues to the IBX Operations Security teams

Project Management


  • Responsible for the coordination and completion of security projects, sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, monitors and summarizes progress of project, within a moderate scope

  • Assists in the planning and coordination of project scheduling, budgeting, administrative tasks, and facilitates and conducts meetings, records meeting minutes/action items, and performs follow-up, while utilizing developing expertise

  • Researches and analyzes data to evaluate moderate operational difficulties, may make recommendations to solve problems, identifies, and monitors issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity, and manage lists, libraries and related workflow

Process


  • Resolves the rollout of information security processes across all sites within a moderate scope

  • Uses developing skills in reviewing physical security processes (e.g., access card key management process) within the IBX and identifies opportunities for process improvement; may support process solutions

Training


  • Coordinates and schedules security training across all sites within a moderate scope

  • Supports the development of training materials

  • May conduct security training (for more experienced members)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Extensive knowledge of security systems including: Access Control, CCTV, Telecommunications and Internet Technologies required.

  • Must be a highly organized, self-motivated and positive team player with demonstrated ability to provide effective oversight and systems management, development and follow-up to prompt closure on security initiatives, plans and solutions.

  • Must be able to work independently, make timely decisions, and manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities needed to provide guidance and direction on various operational projects.

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Required up to 40% travel across Equinix operating locations.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in security systems maintenance, operations and vendor management field or 3+ years’ experience in the aforementioned.

  • Current certification with a major security system manufacturer; preferably Symmetry, Software House, UTC Fire & Security, Gallagher, Honeywell or Loronix.   

  • Extensive experience with datacenter skills such as installing/moving equipment and large-scale cabling projects.
