COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE TRAINER

Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of Adjunct Commercial Driver's License Trainer. This is a part-time, as-needed position with no benefits. Trainer will work up to 28 hours per week when a training course is in session.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate and deliver CDL-training program in compliance with the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicle Standards for entry level Commercial Driver License Class A training. The trainer will follow the curriculum as outlined by Western Nebraska Community College for entry level Commercial Driver License Class A training and will ensure student and public safety at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Nebraska State Class A CDL license: license must be held for a minimum of 2 consecutive years in the state of Nebraska.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Class A licensed commercial motor vehicle driver
• Have no violation on his/her driving record for which five or more points might be assessed as set out in Neb. Rev. Stat 60-4, 182 for the prior five years. This includes probation or other situations in which no points were actually assessed for the violation. Additionally, instructor must have no suspensions or revocations on his/her driving record within the last 5 years, including no convictions for DWI or any related alcohol or drug offense in connection with motor vehicle use.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to work evenings and Saturdays a must.
• Previous experience training class A CDL drivers preferred, but not required.
• Previous classroom training preferred, but not required.

SALARY: Commensurate.
