Job Description:

Arcadis is hiring a Construction Manager with focus on Heavy Highway Construction for our Atlanta office.

What we're looking for: An engaged professional with at least 5 years in progressively responsible positions in construction management of transportation infrastructure projects, including local, state, federal projects consisting of resurfacing, widening, etc. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of local DOT and municipalities in the transportation industry, project controls (cost and schedule management) methods for construction, and commissioning & validation. Contractor experience is a plus.

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Analyze monthly construction contractor CPM schedule updates; develop progress payments based on schedule updates; assist with recovery schedules.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Independently write reports and correspondence.

  • Work collaboratively with the contractor (s), local government (s), and other agencies having jurisdiction and Owner to solve project challenges representing the Owner's best interest

  • Solve complex challenges relating to project schedule and budget as an effective member of the project Team (Owner, ARCADIS, and Contractors)

  • Observe and monitor contractor team to ensure that the project is being constructed in accordance with the approved plan and specifications and that critical project milestone will be met

  • Able to solve complex problems associated with the management of costs and schedules with the project team

  • Ability to track and manage General Contractors and subcontractors

  • Supervise inspection personnel and on-site construction for conformance with contract requirements

  • Write detailed daily reports of the progress of the project to be recorded by the Document Controls/Field Engineer

  • Highly organized in work habits to consistently and accurately support the team and manage a variety of critical tasks


Key Attributes:

  • Project and/or Construction Management experience required to include roadway construction - including local, state, federal projects consisting of resurfacing, widening, etc.

  • Experience required in constructability review, design completeness review, construction, commissioning and validation.

  • Experience required in construction management services including construction oversight/inspection, project controls, project administration and project close out.

  • Primavera P6, MS Project or other project scheduling software

  • MS Office


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.

  • A minimum of 7 years of general industry experience, and at least 5 years of relevant CM experience

  • Project estimating experience (change orders, etc.)
