Job Description:


We are looking for a GIS Analyst Intern! This position is responsible for simple data analysis and creation of various maps and exhibits for incorporation into reports and/or presentations. Candidates must be knowledgeable with ESRI's software products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The GIS Analyst Intern will support Project Managers with planning and design projects for a variety of municipal, state and federal clients throughout Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region. The individual will assist in condition assessment and master planning, watershed modeling, and remediation projects, Major duties/responsibilities of the position include:


  • Working with a project team to support a variety of municipal, state and federal projects.
  • Being responsible for report assistance, presentations, and mapping for a variety of environmental, utility, and water resources projects.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate other project team members and disciplines.

  • Enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Geography, Geographic Interface Systems, or related field.
  • Previous project experience in environmental and utility projects for municipal, state and Federal entities is preferred.
  • Ability to assisted with the preparation of reports, presentation materials, and maps and figures.
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • A valid driver's license
