FireMon is growing!! As a Software Architect you will own the technical strategy for all FireMon products. You are responsible for leading technology selection, defining product integration, identifying key scalability and stability improvements, facilitating standardization and reusability across the teams, and keeping the company abreast of industry changes. Software Architects collaborate with engineers to define and execute the technical vision. They also consult with customers and senior leaders across the company to understand and address technical challenges.Job Duties:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the core FireMon products
- Collaborate with leaders to understand and influence the FireMon product vision
- Define and regularly communicate a technical vision which is consistent with product vision
- Define FireMon reference architectures documenting common ways to solve common problems utilizing best in breed technologies
- Drive consistent future technology decisions through a technology review board made up of key engineering team members
- Identify product integration opportunities and lead integration design phase
- Identify collaboration opportunities and initiate discussions
- Lead third party vendor selection and integration
- Ensure proper architecture and design documentation is captured for all key FireMon products
- Drive a security first mindset
- Keep the engineering and executive teams abreast of key shifts in the technology landscape
- Work closely with the BizDev team to support M&A activities
- Mentor and guide technical resources
- Support the company's patent creation goalsRequired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
- 8 or more years of software development experience using multiple languages
- 3 or more years in an architecture or related role
- Demonstrated ability to design solutions to complex problems
- Demonstrated experience designing high scalable and redundant systems
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Desire and ability to collaborate with others inside and outside the team
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Possess a positive attitude and work well both independently and within a team environment.
- In-depth understanding of coding best practices, including an understanding of optimization, performance ramifications of coding decisions and object-oriented designPreferred Skills & Duties:
- Strong experience in developing data-driven platform technologies, including: data collection and aggregation, data mining, and analytics
- Demonstrated experience working with common relational and non-rational datastores
- Proficient with the Linux operating system or other Unix-like operating system
- Expertise in popular UI technologies (e.g. Angular, ReactJS, etc.)
- Expertise designing and delivering solutions for AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Expertise with virtualization and private cloud technology stacks
- Knowledge of core networking principles and expertise working with common network infrastructure and technologies include software defined networks
- Skills in service-oriented architecture (SOA) for distributed enterprise applications that incorporates discovery, access control, data mapping and security features
