SENIOR AUTOMATION ENGINEERING MANAGER

MAPLE GROVE, MN

The Senior Manager has the primary responsibility for the performance and development of the Automation solutions around in-process defect detection and overall responsibility for delivering complete projects. They will be responsible for two teams, the Automation Engineering team that is responsible to design, build, install, and integrate automated solutions including sensor and part handling, and the project Management team responsible to oversee the complete project execution, and solution delivery.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE KEEN TO TRY SOMETHING NEW:

* Lead and manage the automation team, set priorities, assign resources, budgets, coordinate problem solving activities, and drive continuous improvement.

* Lead the Project Management team and ensure successful completion of projects

* Responsible for the planning and realization of operational activities in the teams and responsible for the quality of the team s output

* Ensure the proper execution of projects and activities

* Responsible for receiving and transferring knowledge, requirements and other relevant information between the automation team, projects team and the customer in an effective and efficient manner.

* Cooperate with relevant departments in USA and globally in relation to SurfMax technology deployment (Departments might include Software, Applications, Service, Sales)

* Owns the competency and personal development of the team, coaches and mentors individual members.

* Contributes to the definition and implementation of automation team policy and planning

* Drive proactive initiatives in the areas of process and performance improvements

* Facilitate timely resolution of escalations or other customer automation issues through the proper channels

YOU ARE:

* Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or (10+) years of experience in engineering and deploying, automated solutions (Graduate Degree preferred).

* Proven track record in the field of automation systems, preferably in an international context.

* Hands on experience in systems design and Automation solutions

* Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent Project Management software

* Read and understand engineering drawings

* Experience with automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, and medical manufacturing environments, corporate standards, and automation systems used in these target industries

* Basic software development experience would be a plus.

* CAD design, controls and electrical design experience
