OBJECTIVE:
This position is a part of a team that develops business case assessments, pre-and post-deal analytics, and recommendations to senior management for rebate expenditures with payers, PBMs, channel partners, and government entities. The individual will own the business case approval process from end to end, developing a deep understanding of the PBM/payer and pharmaceutical businesses to serve as a thought partner for the Managed Markets account teams. The individual collaborates with Contracts and Pricing, Managed Markets, Brand Leaders, Sales, and Finance to achieve organizational access, brand, and financial goals. This individual will work to understand and clearly communicate the financial impact of contracting decisions on net sales/price and volume, including partnership in the annual/quarterly planning process to ensure zero planning gaps.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Business Case Development and Contracting:
Owns the business case approval process (including but not limited to documentation, SOPs, and meetings) from start to finish.
Proactively plans for expiring trade and payer contracts and new business case asks.
Works cross functionally to ensure business cases comply with standard operating procedures. Communicates company guidelines to ensure compliance among self and team members.
Provides support to the Managed Markets & Trade organizations as a thought partner to assess impact of various contracting strategies and scenarios.
Ensures team members provide necessary information and supporting materials needed to make informed contracting decisions.
Ensures the BCA analysts deliver high-quality analytics on time, communicating all assumptions and observations live with stakeholders.
Analytics and Insights:
Helps oversee development of pre-deal analysis plans and also helps establish a process for post-deal analytics including communication to key stakeholders.
Creates and maintains a library of product and scenario analogs to inform contracting assessments.
Financial Planning and Oversight:
Ensures that all trade and payer business cases outcomes are captured in annual planning processes (MRP, MYC).
Archives all business cases and corresponding approvals and ensures BU specific grids reflect the latest information.
Team Leadership:
Offers clear, concise and accurate updates to Senior Leadership.
Assists in the onboarding of new employees and ongoing training and development needs.
Utilizes industry knowledge and experience to teach skills needed to identify and mobilize available Managed Markets analytical resources appropriately.
Helps provide ongoing coaching and individual development opportunities for team members.
Co-leads weekly BCA team meetings leveraging the business case tracker and Managed Care grid to ensure our team is on track to meet deliverables and has a forum to troubleshoot live.
Provides project management technical expertise in all phases of process improvement/project execution.
Helps organize forums to showcase work within the BCA team and neighboring teams within CA&F.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree.
3+ years of relevant work experience including demonstrated project management experience.
Experience working with Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and OneNote.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects & timelines, ensuring all project milestones are met.
Self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills, capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience, as well as, project management tools.
Display ability to communicate effectively using a wide variety of skills and vehicles.
Strong leadership skills and team collaboration abilities.
Desired:
Pharmaceutical, Biotech or Healthcare industry experience.
Experience with directing people and team management experience.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Willingness to travel to meetings including overnight trips.
