Senior Regional Trainer at Wills Group

Job Description:

We are looking for a Regional Trainer to oversee training in the markets in which we operate. This role is home based in the greater Northern VA, DC or Baltimore Metro areas, with approximately 70% travel within the region. Outside of remote-site projects, the Regional Trainer will meet for team meetings, training presentations and facilitation at The Wills Group Headquarters, La Plata, MD for up to 3 days a week.


 


As a member of Talent and People Operations, the Regional Trainer is an integral part in driving the customer experience and high-quality execution of all Retail services. This role is responsible for the implementation and assessment of field-based Operations learning and development for all Team Members of our Retail Business, which includes Franchise and Corporate partners at Dash In, Splash In, and other entities. This role is also responsible for facilitation of all training associated with New Store Openings, Remodel Openings, and new product roll-out initiatives.

Key Accountabilities


 



  • Support Field learning and program initiatives for Corporate and Franchise Locations

  • Implement and deliver training programs for Store Management and Associates. Content includes Training in Job Roles, Guest Experience, Food Safety, and other certification programs.

  • Responsible for coordinating and facilitating all training for New Store Openings and Remodels including on-boarding and other related initiatives

  • Support the Area Managers to evaluate training performance for each market against standards, and partner with them to determine training needs. Validate programs are being executed and delivering desired results

  • Facilitates training on Guest engagement, quality service standards, and food service

  • Perform Certified Training Store visits as needed to ensure quality training environments

  • Delivers training on equipment operation and maintenance

  • Manages access and availability to Compliance Courses for Store Management and Associates.

  • Attains Proctor Certification for ServSafe Manager Food Handler Courses. Conducts all testing as needed for Retail Operations.

  • Participates in Training team initiatives

  • Facilitate online courses as required

  • Recommends ways to streamline processes to ensure efficiencies that enhance learners experience

  • Return on investment analysis to monitor the effectiveness of training techniques. This individual will act as a key agent in motivating and educating our team to support our key priorities.

  • Assesses, measures and calibrates training programs to achieve effectiveness in terms of employee accomplishments and performance objectives

  • Develops and shares best practices with Training Team. Participates in team meetings to provide training or other modules for presentation.

  • Will participate in all Retail Operations meetings that are on or off-site (as required)

  • Acquires and maintains all necessary Compliance courses and certifications

 


Required Qualifications


 



  • Minimum of 3 Years of people and business Management experience, preferably in a fast-casual or full-service restaurant environment

  • Minimum 1 Year of Food service experience, preferably in a fast-casual or full-service restaurant environment

  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on training in fast-casual or full service restaurant - such as running a training store, on the job training, etc , including Classroom style training facilitation

  • Very Strong presentation skills

  • Able to make quick, informed decisions when necessary

  • Prefer ServSafe Manager Certified or Prometric CPFM Certified or equivalent.

  • Prefer ServSafe Alcohol Training Certificate, or City/County/State Alcohol Training Program Certified

  • Clear understanding of all National Food Safety standards

  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative duties that include: timely email management, attending virtual meetings, calendar and appointment management, great communication skills

  • Advanced use of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.

·         Knowledge of the theory and application of adult learning methods and demonstrated ability to “energize” a training classroom and can ensure knowledge transfer using powerful, motivating, and effective presentations.


·         Must be able to adjust training and coaching to the audience. Must know how to relate to a diverse group of participants from Associates in Operations to colleagues at the Home Office.


·         Must be a detail-oriented self-starter who is willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done right.  Must excel at taking initiative, following through, handling a variety of responsibilities, staying focused with rapidly changing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a timely manner



  • Prior experience facilitating classroom training, following a facilitator guide and using webinar tools to deliver video training

  • Prior experience as corporate trainer with a track record in executing successful training programs

  • Experience using learning and training technology to deliver multiple learning modalities

  • Exceptionally organized, timely, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision

·         Responsible for coordinating classroom logistics, facility operations, and setup of training PC’s and any conferencing equipment.
