POSITION SUMMARY:

If you are a mechanical engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Novi, Michigan location, you will be responsible designing tailored actuators, valves and FRL products used in pneumatic and hydraulic applications using computer-aided design software.



 

AS A PRODUCT ENGINEER FOR THE MACHINE AUTOMATION TEAM, YOU WILL: 


  • Use computer-aided design to model and detail components and assemblies

  • Design for manufacturability (i.e. material, processes, costs)

  • Produce 3D models and final 2D customer approval drawings

  • Create and manage BOMs in Microsoft Excel

  • Maintain Engineering files through Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s)

  • Support and interface with both internal and external customers

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience required

  • Experience modeling and developing detailed drawings with Creo3 (Pro/E) or higher is required, DraftSight or AutoCAD for 2D is beneficial

  • Actuator design experience is required

  • Pneumatic experience with products required

  • Legal authorization to work in US without sponsorship

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 


  • Knowledge of Design Failure Modes Effects Analysis (DFMEA)

  • Understanding of tolerance stack up and GD&T

  • Excellent computer skills to include MS Office 365

  • Travel less than 5% domestically as needed
