Job Summary
Responsible for providing technical design, solutioning, and direction to projects, initiatives, and operational teams. These efforts include design/consulting for new systems, upgrades, reengineering efforts, concept investigation, and performing system operational support. This position is also responsible for lifecycle and standards definition, implementation, documentation, and management of IT services and systems including data center, server and desktop computing platforms, end-user productivity software delivery, SAN/NAS, virtualization/cloud-based solutions, system availability alerting, and other infrastructure-related services. Provides mentoring for Level I and Level II Engineers on projects or initiatives where necessary. Provides deep support assistance to Operations staff where required for the bank's various technologies and management systems to ensure system availability and stability. Other responsibilities include request for proposal (RFP) development; vendor relationship management, as well as requisitioning of equipment, licensing, and/or services.


Job Accountabilities



  • Provide expert technical consultation on complex projects. Act as the subject matter expert on infrastructure technology to accomplish project goals.

  • Plan and implement new or upgraded infrastructure components/systems to fulfill lifecycle management, key initiatives, and/or supportability.

  • Provide Operational support of systems where required to ensure system availability and stability. Provide expert level deep support for Level I and Level II engineers and other teams as required.

  • Develop installation and configuration procedures which may include: system diagrams, system overviews, service level agreements, maintenance windows, and support information for transitioning new/upgraded systems to operational support.

  • Perform administration and capacity management of infrastructure systems/services such as web and file servers, Active Directory, storage and backup systems, virtualization; server and desktop operating systems and end-user productivity software.

  • Research, recommend, and implement innovative solutions for process improvement. Identify approaches that utilize automation, as well as existing tools/methods where feasible.

  • Fulfill Ad-hoc requests for non-operational consultation, data gathering, or research.

 


Education



  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Information Systems Required
Experience

  • 4-7 years Systems engineering experience in a moderately complex environment consisting of IBM Power Systems servers and a large diverse population of users, computers, applications and technologies. Required

  • 7-10 years Systems engineering experience in a complex environment consisting of IBM Power Systems servers and a large diverse population of users, computers, applications and technologies. Preferred
