Summary:

The Senior Targeting Specialist (Intelligence) (hereafter referred to as Targeteer) is responsible for providing advanced targeting packets developed using all aspects of information gathering, research, threat valuations, and predictive analysis as part of a human intelligence team. This billet is responsible for researching, developing, and presenting final targeting packets across all levels of military operations (tactical, operational and strategic). The Targeteer will research current and emerging open source databases, various social media applications and collaborate with other U.S. Government (USG) agencies for targeting support as required. The Targeteer will be required to operate independently and in a collaborative environment and will support a variety of operational and targeting efforts for the USG.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Targeteer must have verifiable senior level research, writing and analytic skills and, at a minimum, demonstrated experience in the following key areas:



    • Identifying targeting leads to enable intelligence operations
    • Employing all-source intelligence to identify, analyze, and develop target packets
    • Applying social media applications to the targeting process
    • Conducting advanced open source research methods
    • Preparing and presenting complex final targeting products for action
    • High level proficiency with current and emerging intelligence related automation, applications, tools, and databases in support of target analysis and development
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills
    • Effective coordination with senior officials and agencies throughout the IC
    • Exercising solid operational judgment in a developing environment
    • Capacity to respond quickly and efficiently to high priority, emerging requirements
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision or in a collaborative team environment
    • Established skills working in the following:
    • OSINT and PAI platforms
    • GEO-enabled PAI
    • Berber Hunter Toll Kit (BHTK)
    • Graduate of BHTK or comparable course
    • Trained in the following PAI Tier I & II courses or related training:
    • DIA OSINT awareness training
    • DIA Tier managed attribution training


Supervisory/Management Authority:

This position will not have supervisory or management authority

Education and/or Experience:


  • Master's of Science preferred
  • Bachelor of Science with pertinent military intelligence and targeting experience
  • Graduate of a recognized intelligence focused targeting school (DIA or DoD)
  • Identity Management Operator Course (IMOC) or comparable course
  • Attribution Signature User Training (ASUT) or comparable course

  • Advanced Social Media Analysis Course (ASMAC) or other recognized Tier II qualifying training course

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Skilled in advanced F3EAD targeting methodology
  • Ability to support national level meetings and working groups as a targeting SME
  • Familiar with Intelligence Community report writing styles
  • Intelligence Community's Analytic Tradecraft Standards

  • Familiar with specific USG classified databases and targeting applications
  • Foreign language proficiency (Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian)

  • Experience at Deep/Dark web search and exploitation

Work Environment:

This position is performed in a secured federal office setting when not traveling. Travel will consist of 25% CONUS and 25% OCONUS.
