Position Summary:

The Perioperative Patient Care Assistant Per Diem performs basic patient care tasks as a cooperative member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, in the Main OR nursing unit at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. He/she reports at all times to a supervising nurse. This position also indirectly supports patient care by providing clerical support to the unit as assigned. The Perioperative Patient Care Assistant PD facilitates a safe, clean working environment for all patients, visitors, and staff.Minimum Requirements:


  • Prior work experience in an acute hospital setting is preferred.


  • Must have basic knowledge of standard perioperative care procedures.


  • Knowledge of medical terminology is recommended.


  • A current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) certification is required.
