Job Description:



As an OEM Support Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of TransPower’s medium duty and heavy-duty electric powertrain at the customer’s site. The position will support vehicle commissioning, integration, diagnosing operational problems and repairing equipment for vehicles and equipment located at the customer site. Physical demands include, but are not limited to, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking some heavy lifting, and maneuvering over, under and around vehicles and equipment, to service, maintain and repair. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE CUSTOMER SITE IN DENTON, TX.

Job Responsibilites:

• Integrate, commission, repair, troubleshoot and service medium and heavy-duty electric/hybrid vehicles, systems and equipment

• Verify system safety

• Maintain good communication with internal/external staff such as customers, engineering, program managers, drivers, co-workers, supervisors, and service technicians

• Maintain proper paperwork and documentation for installations including written procedures, reports, and commissioning documents

• Complete assigned work accurately and in a timely fashion

• Explain and train proper components installation and routings

• Train and assist the customer (OEM) in the operation, repair, diagnostics and maintenance of all TransPower product lines

• Local daily travel may be required up to 25% of the time, as well as occasional overnight travel throughout North America as the company grows



Required Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills:

•Strong experience with electrical wiring, circuit testing, troubleshooting and general mechanical/electrical systems

•Must be comfortable using a multimeter to diagnose electrical issues

•Must be able to read schematics and wiring diagrams and be able to make repairs/changes using solder sleeves, terminals and crimpers

•Basic understanding of electricity (Ohm’s Law) and components (resistors, capacitors, diodes)

•Basic understanding of vehicle fault codes and communicating with vehicle modules

•Familiar with the use of hand tools, power tools and shop equipment

•Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office products, including MS Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

•Good problem resolution and analytical skills related to troubleshooting technical issues, communicating and documenting solutions to non-technical parties

•Ability to interact professionally at all times with internal and external customers

Preferred Qualifications/Education:

•Technical Degree in a related field

•Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Good driving record and demonstrated ability to safely operate company and customer vehicles

•Experience using calibration development software, such as MotoTune and Raptor

•Experience with vehicle hybrid or electric drive systems

•Full understanding of all HD Truck Tools including, but not limited to Davie, ESA and VEPS

•Understanding of PACCAR quality standards

•Experience with integrated circuits, using analog/digital inputs and outputs

•High voltage, natural gas, and/or hydrogen systems training or certifications

•Experience in repairing high voltage components such as inverters, converters, high voltage contractors, high voltage cables, permanent magnet traction motors
