Chief Editor – Nature Structural & Molecular Biology

Location: New York, London or Berlin

Springer Nature, the publisher of Nature, is looking to recruit a Chief Editor for Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, a multidisciplinary journal publishing papers of the highest quality and significance across the span of research in structural and molecular biology. 

We are seeking an ambitious, visionary and dynamic Chief Editor, who will build upon the success of NSMB as a leading publication covering all aspects of research in the field. The successful candidate will lead a talented and motivated in-house editorial team. Strong leadership qualities and management skills are essential, previous editorial experience is required and managerial experience is an advantage. You must have a PhD in a relevant area. You would work from our London, Berlin or New York office.

This demanding and stimulating role calls for a  passion for communicating science. A key aspect of the job is interacting with the scientific community and attending international conferences. You must, therefore, be dynamic and outgoing, be prepared to travel, and have excellent interpersonal skills. You must also be committed to improving author and review services and to helping the journal evolve to better serve the needs of the global research community.
