The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Operations Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Providing creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance


• Assembling and summarizing data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks


• Developing financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis


• Identifying trends, advise management and recommend actions based on sound analysis


• Driving process improvement and policy development initiatives that positively impact the function

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who (must have) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution and a minimum of eleven (11) years in business in lieu of the Bachelor’s degree education requirement


• Seven (7) combined years in business/accounting/finance with reporting

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance, Accounting, and Business, Economics or related field preferred


• MBA or CMA certification


• Proven working experience as a Financial or Business Analyst


• Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications


• Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills


• Knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance and information analysis


• Excellent verbal, written, analytical, communications, problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.


• Capable of maintaining superior customer relations in a fast- paced environment


• Consistently maintain a high degree of positive motivation with a strong commitment to meet corporate goals.


• Ability to assertively plan, organize, delegate and follow up while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.


• Experience with business intelligence applications and report writing is a plus


• Working understanding of Information Systems based project or cost accounting principles

Travel: Occasional travel may be required

Location:  Silver Spring, MD or Remote
