The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

3M is playing a leading role in advancing new technology solutions into the evolving automotive industry.  You will provide support to automotive OEMs and related tier suppliers in identifying and implementing successful battery technology solutions for various components of the e-Powertrain on the vehicle.
 

As a Senior Product Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Implementing programs to improve quality, reduce cost, and expand offerings in the battery technology solutions space for e-Powertrain.

  • Working closely with product development teams (NPI) and lead management of change programs (MOC) as needed to support growth in the business.

  • Verifying and documenting product specifications for new and existing products.

  • Conducting product claims testing and document test results via claim substantiation process.

  • Interacting closely with key internal and external manufacturers and suppliers to deliver high-quality retail products.

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Product Support and/or Commercialization

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution

  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) and leading and contributing to cross-functional teams

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding in battery technology solutions manufacturing or research and development

  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute product verification/claim substantiation test plans, and Design of Experiment (DOE) and other statistical methods

  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment

Travel: May include up to 15%

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
