Department: Building Maintenance

Shift: Rotating 12-hour night shift (8pm to 8am)

Location: Middletown, OH

Summary:

The Building Maintenance Associate performs duties as required to ensure smooth and effective operations of maintaining a neat, clean, clutter-free, safe facility.

This position requires:


- Clean building by sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sealing, buffing, washing rooms, vacuuming, washing surfaces, etc.

- Move and store furniture and equipment

- Perform building inspections to ensure building security

- Clean facility with hand brooms, power scrubbers, sweepers, and vacuum cleaners to meet company standards

- Remove all trash and cardboard from offices, breakrooms and bathroom facilities daily, ensuring that trash cans are empty and clean.

- Clean break room, restroom facilities and all work areas on an appropriate schedule set by management

- Ensure that the highest degree of sanitation and housekeeping are maintained

- Inventory of Supplies & Materials

- Stocking personal hygiene items in restrooms and other areas of need

- Remove ice and snow from pedestrian walkways and parking lots

- Perform ground maintenance, watering, sweeping and weeding as needed

- Keep company grounds and facility free of litter and debris

- Report safety problems to supervisor/manager

- Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards

- Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:


- High school diploma or equivalent required;

- 1-2 years of experience with custodial work

- Experience with power scrubbers and sweepers preferred

Language/Communication Skills :


- Must be achievement-oriented and able to complete assignments rapidly in a deadline-driven environment.

- Must have excellent teamwork skills

- Must be capable of speaking, reading, and writing English with suitable written, oral and interpersonal skills.

Mathematical Skills:


- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions and percentages to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:


- Excellent attention to detail, quality, safety, and follow-up.

- Strong sense of urgency and time management.

- Highly motivated individual that works well in a team environment or independently.


- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:


- Basic computer skills are helpful.

The position will require work in a production/warehouse setting and office setting. The noise level in the work environment is moderately noisy to noisy depending on the area the task takes place in. The position will be exposed to dirt, dust, fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures at times.
