* You will works with staff to identify educational and equipment needs, coach and manage performance skills and develop leadership potential.

* Under the direction of Department Director, you will assist in clinical coaching and assure that orientation for employees is completed and in accordance with policy.

* You will participate and support staff in providing patient care by taking a patient assignment as needed during emergent situations

* In collaboration with your nursing team, you will ensure all nurse sensitive quality metrics (including Core Measures and HCAHPS) are maintained above the National/ NDNQI benchmark through process improvement, reduction in practice variation, and evidence based practice.

INTENSIVE CARE SERVICES

We are an HCA Healthcare facility and for more than a century, we have delivered the highest quality healthcare to residents of Southwest Virginia. Our board-certified, multidisciplinary team of specialists offer compassionate care for our Medical, Cardiac and Surgical ICU patients. Our three units each offer specialized care for a range of conditions, from stroke recovery to open-heart surgery.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR SURGICAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT:

* 12 bed Surgical ICU

* Nurse to patient ratios based on acuity (very fast pace)

* Types of patients on this unit: Neuro Surgical and Cardiothoracic

* Excellent physician relations with our Critical Care/ Pulmonologist (help with wording)

* Part of LGMC Shared Governance councils

* A supportive environment focused on fostering educational opportunities and specialty certification

QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Two years Registered Nurse experience

* Demonstrated proficiency in leadership and management within the specialty

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

* Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program (required)

* BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of Nursing (preferred)

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

* Current licensure as an RN in the state of Virginia or current multi-state compact RN license with eligibility to practice in VA is required.

* American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider (required)
