Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis will provide leadership and set direction for Financial Planning and Analysis Function. He or she will develop and drive execution of internal processes, tools, systems and reporting capabilities to enable business functions to efficiently meet business and financial goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide management with analyses and tools necessary to understand the financial aspects of the business and assess performance
- Prepare and analyze quarterly commercial and clinical accruals
- Lead in the development of the annual budget & forecasting processes
- Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with all departments within the Company
- Coach and advise the Senior Leadership regarding financial implications to the business for decision making
- Develop financial and operational dashboard analytics for presentation to management
- Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
- Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
- Lead in the development of tools and processes to continually improve the analytical capabilities and measurement processes across the company
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports to management including analyzing performance against budget and forecast
- Support commercial activities; work closely with constituents to develop processes to enable forecasting and revenue recognition and ensure financial systems and corporate programs meet business needs
- Partner with commercial organization to leverage research and secondary data to understand and challenge sales projections for short and long term financial models
- Support cross functional management teams with analytical support to monitor and evaluate key organization metrics
- Responsible for accomplishment and follow up of all types of financial audits - internally and externally
- Foster development of compliance awareness and encourage cross-functional communications
- Prepare presentations to Senior Management Team, Audit Committee and Board of Directors
- Demonstrate the highest level of business ethics and personal integrity, and establish himself or herself as a dynamic leader able to inspire, develop and motivate leadership in others
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in accounting/finance and business administration with 12 years' relevant experience; equivalent combination of advanced degree and less experience may be considered
- MA/MS in Accounting/Finance and business administration preferred
- Experience in biotech, healthcare or pharmaceutical industry
- Experience working with Adaptive Insights a plus
- Experience in managing teams and external resources
- In depth proficiency in aspects of accounting and finance and knowledge of US GAAP
- Proven track record of high performance, business acumen and solid technical skills
- Skilled at multi-tasking; ability to quickly understand technical and operational processes
- Ability to work on strategic initiatives
- Good understanding of business processes and ability to guide the team in this area if required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to lead teams effectively
- Good knowledge of the managed market and reimbursement environment
- Strong communication (verbal and written), organization and planning skills

- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk; sit; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Some travel may be required.
