Job Description:

SUMMARY: The Plant Staff Accountant is responsible for certain accounting duties for Seaboard Foods Guymon Processing Plant. Primary responsibilities of the position are full general ledger accounting duties, including compilation of invoices for shared operations (Triumph Foods), reconciliation of month end processes, cost analysis, journal entries, payroll and accounts payable. Additional special projects are assigned as directed by plant operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Analysis, reconciliation, journal entry, transaction entry and statement preparation for plant operations and shared operations (Triumph Foods)

- Provides support for key accounting functions including, production accounting, payroll, hog procurement and accounts payable

- Responsible for troubleshooting payroll opportunities, participates and conducts training as required by the needs of the operation

- Help the department improve efficiency in files, reports, and reporting as well as look for opportunities to meet deadlines more effectively

- Participates, supports and leads special projects as assigned by the department

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES: Assists in the oversight of the payroll clerks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field, two years accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of manufacturing operations preferred but not required.

- Extensive experience using Microsoft office suite, ADP eTime, JD Edwards/M3, Tableau, and all standard programs used by the industry required.

- Adaptable to change, able to work in a fast-paced environment; meet deadlines.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.

- Exceptional organizational skills.

- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and has sound judgment skills.

- Ability to Present information to a group effectively.

COMMINICATION SKILLS: Ability to communicate both verbal and written in English. Ability to interact and effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees in the organization.

REASONING ABILITY AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply mathematical accounting concepts to practical situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in an office work environment is usually moderate.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management.
