DESCRIPTION

PLANT SUPERINTENDENT - SHEBOYGAN, WI

Georgia-Pacific is currently hiring for a PLANT SUPERINTENDENT for our SHEBOYGAN, WI facility. The Sheboygan facility operates with some of the latest technology in the Corrugated Packaging Industry and we are seeking a dynamic leader with a thorough understanding of process improvement, demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and engage others to contribute at the highest level to optimize our equipment to better meet and anticipate our customers' needs.

The Superintendent will directly manage 5 salaried supervisors in a continuous manufacturing environment. The Superintendent will report directly to the Director of Operations and have overall responsibility for the day to day operations.We employ over 100 employees on a 3 shift, 24/5 production schedule. Sheboygan, WI offers a variety of outdoor recreation options from the beach to mountains and has close access to many regional attractions, including the historic downtown district with unique shopping, dining and other forms of entertainment. WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE

* Advance the application of Market Based Management (MBM(R)) throughout the operation departments to create maximum long-term value for our customers, company, and society

* Safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively identify and mitigate critical hazards

* Effectively manage and advance all aspects of manufacturing - Safety & Health, Environmental, Reliability, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Yield, Compliance and Capital/Maintenance Investment

* Measure production efficiencies, analyze and solve machine downtime causes, eliminate waste, maintain budgetary raw material usages, perform root cause analysis, schedule production, and establish standard operating procedures

* Identify, understand, and adopt relevant best practices to advance faster than the competition

* Direct and indirect responsibilities for salary and hourly operation employees, including development of roles/responsibilities/expectations, performance reviews and compensation evaluations for each individual employee

THE EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING

Requirements:

* At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience within a manufacturing, industrial or military environment
* Experience developing salaried and hourly employees through coaching, performance reviews, etc.

* Experience with continuous improvement initiatives such as root cause analysis in a manufacturing environment

* Experience with financial analysis/economic thinking around plant production costs

* Experience using Microsoft Office Suite such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas), and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)

* Ability work evenings and weekends as needed

WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Manufacturing, Business, or Engineering

* At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience within a Corrugated Industry

* Green or Black belt certification
