Job Description:

SUMMARY: This position is designed to be part of the company succession plan for a Production General Position and therefore is designed after the Production General job description.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following: (other duties may be assigned)

- Execute the daily and weekly production schedules for multiple lines of production within a department.

- Hold tem member accountable for safety policies and SOP's to ensure a safe work environment and identify and eliminate any threats that could endanger others.

- Identifying the developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help team members to improve their knowledge or skills

- Develop constructive and collaborative working relationships with other departments.

- Using relevant information and critical thinking to determine whether employee actions comply with our standard operating procedures. Identify problems and prioritize solutions to achieve throughput targets.

- Inspecting equipment, structures, and product to prevent the cause of defects and/or downtime and meet quality specifications.

- Analyzing production information and evaluate results to assure we are meeting throughput targets

- Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without compromising product safety or integrity

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Product knowledge and specifications are critical. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 2 or 4 year college degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years of pork industry experience. Prior supervisory experience is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Bilingual skills in Spanish preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee will regularly lift and/or move 20 lbs, seldom lift and/or move more than 100 pounds while coaching and training personnel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Standing, stooping, walking, bending, and climbing are all expected physical abilities, with or without accommodations.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely works near moving mechanical parts. The facilities exhibit inside temperatures ranging from -35 to 110 degrees. Production floors can be wet and slippery due to various residues including product, water and chemical. The facilities noise level ranges from 85 to 100 db. The facilities have various gaseous materials including cleaning and sanitation agents and ammonia for refrigerant systems.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work A or B shift when needed or as assigned. The company goal is to work 26 weekends per year.
