As a Software Engineer at John Deere, you will work on Expert Alerts product team and lead design, development and roll out of Machine Insight Generation, Routing & Delivery Architecture by planning its work, coordinating with others, and writing and testing code to deliver functionality for the complete product or products it supports. This level designs complex/significant parts of a system/sub-system or works on a complete product of a broad scope and solves well-defined problems with little guidance. You may act as a work lead, providing technical coaching to other engineers and support personnel; recognized as an expert user of critical technology; develops new software functionality for product development. Our vision is to use connectivity, technology and unmatched support to help our customers achieve the optimal outcome from every step of every job using the Proactive Services like Expert Alerts. This role designs significantly more complex parts of a system independently. In addition, you will;

• Be an active member of an Agile software delivery team, work with your team and other delivery teams within the Product to establish strong software design, data design and loosely coupled Architectural alignment in a complex application environment
• Transform and continuously improve product to meet or exceed the product's specifications of availability, quality and user experience
• Ensure a high quality and sustainable code base by establishing Test Driven Development (TDD) as the foundation of development
• Be working with Big Data
• Be working in development of high-quality Front-End Applications
• Ensure reliable and quality deployments using CI/CD

What Skills You Need

• Proven experience in the design, development, testing and integration of high complex software solutions leveraging change management
• Understanding of applications development environment, database, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints
• Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment
• Proven deep experience leveraging DevSecOps and lean development principles such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
• Deep experience with software test automation (TDD and Unit Testing Frameworks: Junit, Mockito, Cucumber, Cypress)
• Working understanding of design patterns

• Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution
