Our Work
Options Counseling and Family Services provides family preservation, behavioral health services, and other family supports to families and individuals in 11 Oregon counties. Options providers use a family centered approach, in which the family’s knowledge of their own strengths and needs is the primary resource.

General Description:
The Mental Health Therapist provides individual and family therapy to adults and their families. Work includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, ongoing individual services, and crisis related services. They will provide case management and consultation with PCPs, parole/probation officers, drug and alcohol providers, DHS Child Welfare, self-sufficiency programs, and other community partners. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Eligible clients may be self-referred or referred by County Mental Health, DHS Child Welfare and Self Sufficiency, or the client’s PCP. The majority of our clients use the Oregon Health Plan, but we do accept some private insurance. Authorization for services may be required from the Coordinated Care Office (CCO) or other payer source.
The ideal candidate will have experience and preference working with an adult population (aged 17+). Excellent computer and time management skills. Enjoy working in a team environment.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s or doctorate degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field. Knowledge and/or experience providing mental health services, including assessment and diagnosis, to adults and families. Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and record keeping software preferred. Must have respectful, open, accepting attitude toward clients and their families. Must be able to qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and be eligible for licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the impact of trauma and experience working with disadvantaged and high-risk individuals, including work with incest, sexual abuse, drug and alcohol abuse and domestic violence. Experience with, or knowledge of, serious and persistent mental illness. Strong understanding of available community resources and supports.
