Schaeffler, a global automotive and industrial supplier, is seeking a Tool Preparer I - for 2nd shift to work at our Fort Mill, SC location. The goal of this position is to prepare, breakdown and minor repair of production tooling, while learning and advancing skills under the mentorship of experienced tool preparers and tool and die makers.

• Assembles tool sets for production
  
  


• Breaks down and cleans tooling after production
  
  


• Inspects tooling for damage or wear after production
  
  


• Make minor repair to tooling
  
  


• Maintain complete and accurate records on tooling as required
  
  


• Maintain a clean a safe work area
  
  


• Follows all Safety rules and practices
  
  


• Follows all Quality procedures
  
  

Qualified candidates will have:

• Associates Degree in Machine Tool or related field or equivalent in experience
  
  
• Experience with a variety of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, etc.
  
  


• Skilled in the use of blue prints
  
  


• Understanding and ability to work with both metric and standard measurement systems
  
  


• Experience in the use of precision gauging
