Required Experience:

Project management experience must include design of controls, electronic, and/or electrical devices and systems. Professional Engineer License preferred.  Strong communication skills, product liability awareness, and excellent decision making abilities required. JOB DESCRIPTION

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform all activities in accordance with existing company policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Lead engineering sub-teams (as assigned), develop projects schedules and set obtainable goals.

Perform independent design work including electrical and mechanical systems design.

Perform analytical modeling.

Analyze complex components or systems for design life and performance. 


Layout concepts.

Provide sufficient direction for preparation of necessary CAD drawings.

Write test procedures, set up, perform and monitor tests. Collect, reduce, analyze, present test data and draw appropriate conclusions based on the data.

Assist with the organization and maintenance of engineering document files.

Suggest or select materials, components and/or tolerances as appropriate to ensure proper product performance.

Effectively interface with internal contacts such as other engineers, designers, drafters, technicians, manufacturing, purchasing, sales and marketing.

Effectively interface with external contacts such as suppliers for component selection options, sales representatives and customers.

Write purchase specifications which accurately describe necessary product/component performance.

Attend field trips to install/troubleshoot prototype and/or service engineering field models (possible overnight travel).

Support all phases of engineering to ensure projects run smoothly and target dates are met.

Keep current with technology advancements for the purpose of product and manufacturing improvements.

Responsible for executing and supporting the quality system and procedures in the effort for continuous improvement.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assist in achieving business goals through lead contributions in developing new products and implementing product improvements.

Manage projects to meet schedules and budget performance expectations.

Ensure that product life and reliability goals are met by implementing appropriate test programs and documenting proper product/component specifications.
