Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®, a CRH company, is the leading supplier of products specified to close the building envelope. They include: custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.

Job Summary

Team members are required to follow all company safety rules including wearing all the necessary personal protective equipment required by the plant. Team members are expected to follow all plant/work rules and management instructions. Team members must be able to move to any part of the plant where needed to maintain production.  This position requires that material, including glass and metal, be moved from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant. Production team members must be physically able to stand for ten or more hours per day on a cement floor as well as being available to work any shift. In addition, sustained overhead lifting activities, prolonged and/or continued grasping or gripping with hands and repetitive bending of the wrists is required.

STARTING WAGE $15.00/HOUR

Additional $1.50/hour shift differential for 2nd & 3rd shifts
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Handling of fragile and potentially sharp glass and metal product(s) from, tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for ten or more hours daily

  • Transporting of materials including glass from one position/location to another to expedite the production process

  • Operating powered equipment and manually maneuvering glass transport equipment

  • Reading and understanding labels to expedite product flow into other departments

  • Attaching appropriate labels and tags to products and packages  

  • Understanding layout of the facility to ensure proper product flow

  • Inspecting product for any abnormalities and notifying supervisor immediately of any issues

  • Utilizing a tape measure to ensure the item is within the product specifications

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area 

  • Adherence to all safety policies and procedures, the ability to safely perform tasks, and regular attendance are essential functions of the position

  • Complete any assigned tasks as assigned by a supervisor or lead 

Requirements


  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand English in order to effectively communicate paperwork and labels

  • Ability to read and interpret basic mathematical measurements and use a tape measure

  • Must be able to work overtime as needed

  • All plant employees are expected to be available to work in all areas of production

  • Flexible work availability (typically Monday through Friday with occasional weekends if needed)

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred

  • Previous factory experience is a plus

  • Previous glass experience highly desirable

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical

Physical Requirements


  • Ability to bend/twist frequently and carry, reach, use hands and arms, stand, and walk constantly

  • Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. regularly by carrying, pushing, and pulling

  • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
