COLISEUM HEALTH is a two hospital system located in Macon, Georgia; you may know us better as Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside Hospital. WE ARE SEARCHING FOR A STAFF ACCOUNTANT, IN COORDINATION WITH THE CFO, CONTROLLER AND ACCOUNTING STAFF, RESPONSIBLE FOR FACILITATING THE ACCURATE AND TIMELY REPORTING OF THE HOSPITAL AND RELATED ENTITIES' FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND ENSURING ACCOUNTING POLICY GUIDELINES AND SARBANES OXLEY CONTROLS ARE ADHERED TO AS THEY RELATE TO SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Completes journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and internal controls reviews, among other duties as assigned.

* Displays good organizational skills and utilizes time wisely. Performs work accurately and meets assigned deadlines.

* Works effectively as a team player, seeks opportunities to assist coworkers, and shares information and resources with colleagues.

* Attends in-service presentations and completes all mandatory education requirements.

* Exhibits regular, punctual, and dependable attendance.

* Practices, develops, and endorses customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Fulfills duties with the mission, vision and values of Coliseum Health System at the forefront Sarbanes-Oxley key controls.

* This position is also responsible for monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, assist in annual budget process, preparing schedules and researching accounts and assisting the Controller or Assistant Controller with statistical reporting for the hospital and joint ventures.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION REQUIRED: BBA in Accounting required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: Minimum 3 + years with accounting experience, preferably in healthcare.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

* Ability to read and write basic English

* Basic computer skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

* Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external customers' needs
