Overview:

Provides direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychological, physical and general aspect of care: utilizes the nursing process in patient care; meets the communication and education needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations. Communicates in a professional, positive, and assertive manner congruent with Mercy Service Standards. Communicates with physicians and other team members about changes in patients' conditions and is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Maintains regulatory agency requirement and adheres to hospital policies, procedures and standards.

* RN will float to Mercy Hospital's within a specified geographic area from the RN's home address.

* Each RN will be responsible to float between designated Mercy Hospitals within the Central Community.

* To qualify for a RRN position, the RN must live in an area where they can float to either:

* 2 of the 4 acute care hospitals and a minimum of 2 of the critical access hospitals

OR

* float to 1 acute care hospital and 3 critical access hospitals

* Non-compensated drive time will be 1 hour 20 minutes or less.

All hospitals within a 1 hour and 20 minute drive time of the RN's home will be considered the RN's work area

Minimum Required Qualifications

Education:

*

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

*

Licensure:

* Current Multi State RN license which allows the RN to work in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri

*

Experience:

* Minimum 2 years' experience with at least 1-year Progressive Care, Emergency Department or ICU experience

* Central Community Regional Resource RN's will be competent to work in all general nursing departments which include but are not limited to medical, cardiac, surgical, neuro. The RRN will also be competent to work in progressive care, stepdown and the Emergency Department.

Certification/Registration:

* Current certifications for BLS or complete upon hire/transfer to RRN

* ACLS, PALS and NIH within 90 days of hire/transfer to RRN

* TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer to RRN

* NRP within 1 year of hire/transfer to RRN

Other Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to hear and read effectively. Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English. Ability to navigate effectively in many computer systems. Ability to work in a team focused environment. Ability to work in a rapid-paced work environment. Ability to work independently. Good problem-solving skills. Ability to provide quality bedside patient care.

Additional languages preferred. Previous experience with the Epic computer system preferred.
